Continiuing on with our Science topic of materials the children have been busy investigating the changing shape of some materials.
This week the Marvellous Meerkats have been busy invesigating how the shapes of solid objects made from some materials can be changed by squashing, bending, twisting and stretching.
The children carfeully explored the objects and were then able to record which could be bent, squashed, twisted and stretched. They then went on to explain why they think some materials can be changed in this way and others cannot.
Further investigations led to discussions about house building materials which linked back to our prior learning about suitability of materials.
