Marvellous Meerkats

Published: 23rd November 2016

What a fantastic Christmas activity day the Marvellous Meerkats have had. The day has passed in a blur of laughter, excitement and of course glitter!

The day began with Christmas music (Slade proved a big hit!) and a carousel of activities which included:

The Holly and the Ivy

We learnt the first verse of this traditional Christmas carol. The children created stunning holly inspired prints using sponges on black paper. Our work is proudly displayed in the hall.

Handprint Christmas Tree

Using only our hands and fingers we created some beautiful Christmas trees which we are going to turn in to calendars.

The calendars can be purchased at the Christmas fair on 2nd December for £1.

Christmas Baubles

An extremely popular activity with the children...

The children have created some beautiful hand decorated baubles which will look stunning on any Christmas tree. These too can be purchased at the Chriatmas Fair for £1.

Christmas Cards

Preparation for our Christmas cards has been on going for a number of weeks now as part of our art lessons but today we wrote the inside of our cards.

The Snowman

The children have also enjoyed watching the snowman DVD, following which we created stunning pastel snowman pictures which have been used to create a beautiful classroom display along with our handmade snowflakes.

Christmas Tree

Finally the children sang carols in the hall and helped to decorate our school Christmas tree. A super end to a magic day...
