What a great first week back at school.
We were very excited to welcome all members of our class, old and new and we must say, you all looked very smart in your uniforms!
The Terrific Tiger class also welcomed 2 new members of staff: Ms Hughes and Miss Kelly. Both have said what a lovely week they have had and look forward to working with the children throughout the year. Miss Kelly is also a lunch time supervisor and will provide a familar face in the dining hall.
All children have quickly settled in to our class and despite a few tears first thing, all children have had lots of fun and have enjoyed accessing a range of activities throughout the week.
Our main focus this week has been to settle the children in and to spend time getting to know them and engaging in a range of activities with them. We have also created self portraits using paint (these will be displayed in class) and had our first PE lesson with Josh (Project Sport). Josh was very impressed with us and we all had lots of fun. A little reminder that children will undertake a PE session each Thursday. This will increase throughout the year and we will inform you of additional days as they are added. Please ensure that your child has a PE kit (indoor and outdoor) with them and that all items are named. A list of kit was sent home in the Summer term and parents are asked to adhere to the school policy (yellow t-shirt, blue shorts, black / grey trainers or pumps etc). PE kit should be in a draw string bag and this can be hung on their peg. We send children home with their PE kits at the end of each half term.
Next week we will begin our Forest School sessions, which will take place on Monday mornings. Children should come to school in their uniform and bring their Forest School kit with them in a bag. As we are outside in all weathers it is important that children have appropriate clothing (full change of clothes, puddle suit / waterproofs, spare socks, hat, gloves and wellies etc). We will send their forest school kit home each week.
On Friday all children should have received their half termly overview for the first half term. If your child was not at school they will receive it next week but it can also be accessed in the virtual office area on the school website alongside the reception children's homework.
Also, congratulations to our first children who made it in to the Golden Book: Lillie and Clara. You both set a super example to your class mates this week and both did so with a smile on your face.
Our Golden Assembly takes place every Friday at 2.30pm and all families are invited to attend.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns please don't hesitate to speak to a member of staff at pick up time or make an appointment to speak to Mrs Koltuk.
