The Terrific Tigers have made a great start to the half term.
At the beginning of the week we read the story 'Pumpkin Soup'. The children had lots of fun cooking pumpkin soup with Mrs Cunningham and sequencing the steps using the vocabulary 'first, next, then and finally'. We also made pumkin prints, which are proudly displayed in our classroom.
Later in the week we read 'Aaaarrrghhh Spider' and thought about what pet we would like if we can choose any animal. We also looked at firework displays on the internet and thought of words to describe the fireworks as well as having lots of creative fun.
In maths, our number of the week has been 1 and we have practised sequencing the numbers 1-5 in order.
In phonics, the reception children have been practising reading the tricky words: no, go, I, the, into and to. They have practised reciting the alphabet and have looked at the sounds: s,a,t,p.
Nursery children have continued to developed their knowedge of phase 1 phonics and particulary enjoyed their sound walk.
On Friday we had a Halloween party to wish Fritz a fond farewell. We hope that you will have a safe journey and a fantastic time in America.
